Cybersecurity Case Study
Clinique Pasteur

Clinique Pasteur protects its 2,000 Windows and Linux endpoints with the support of its partner Hexanet.

With HarfangLab’s EDR, this healthcare facility achieves the security its sector demands, while further optimizing costs and resources.

Context

The healthcare sector is targeted by ransomware and data theft alike. Equipped with antivirus and firewall solutions, Clinique Pasteur needed to deploy an EDR, an essential tool for detecting and remediating threats, and ensure their organization had all the data needed for effective investigation.

While the clinic had already taken resilience measures to face ransomware, the EDR provides an additional layer of security to guard against espionage and data theft as it detects exfiltration attempts and other lateral movements.

“We need the highest level of security taking into account budgetary constraints. Security is part of the IT budget which represents 1.9% of the clinic’s overall budget. To sum up, I have to ensure workspace security with a limited budget and resources.”
Denis Di Santo, CISO – Clinique Pasteur

Why HarfangLab?

After testing various solutions and partners, Clinique Pasteur approached Hexanet who recommended HarfangLab’s platform to meet the needs of all endpoints: workstations and servers.

“We wanted a solution that offered the best level of protection and was operated by a trusted partner, because over and above budgetary constraints, we needed to outsource processing and response in the event of a security alert. This combination of platform and partner means that we are only called upon when relevant, with a minimal volume of false positives. HarfangLab means we’re well protected, and we save time with Hexanet’s requests being limited to the bare minimum.”
Denis Di Santo, CISO – Clinique Pasteur

Deployment

Before a long-term engagement, Clinique Pasteur evaluated HarfangLab’s EDR for a year. The aim was to ensure the relevance and robustness of the solution, and the quality of the partner’s support.

At the end of this period, the healthcare establishment decided to make a long-term commitment.

“On the one hand, we need to protect our infrastructure, but we also need to have sufficient flexibility to enable our business applications to run properly. HarfangLab’s detection and protection capabilities provide the answer to our needs in this context, and what’s more, it’s a European solution!”
Denis Di Santo, CISO – Clinique Pasteur

Support

Clinique Pasteur’s security team relies fully on Hexanet’s expertise to configure HarfangLab, manage alerts, and ensure complete visibility over the information system security.

“We have implemented numerous automations in the platform to ease the work of the analysts. Integration work is essential to get the best out of the solution, and we rely heavily on telemetry and all the information the EDR sends back to raise questions in the event of a security event. The interface is very intuitive, providing access to all the necessary information at the right time and in the right place. This data also enables us to generate weekly reports for our customer, and to escalate emergencies when necessary.”
Pascal Abraham, Telecom and Cybersecurity Director – Hexanet

Results

“Thanks to HarfangLab and Hexanet, we can work with peace of mind, knowing that we have all the information we need, without being bothered by false positives or unnecessary alerts.
As the platform has proved its worth at Clinique Pasteur, it has even been adopted by another player in the group, who has a single person to manage 3 facilities!
We also plan to add HarfangLab’s EPP to our arsenal to take advantage of a single platform to correlate and analyze data even faster.”
Denis Di Santo, CISO – Clinique Pasteur

“HarfangLab enables us to react as quickly as possible in the event of a security alert. For example, after detecting the presence of a stealer on a workstation, thanks to HarfangLab’s data and knowledge of the clinic’s information system, we were able to remediate within just a few hours.”
Pascal Abraham, Director Telecom and Cybersecurity – Hexanet
