Cyber
Case Study
Molcy

Molcy is a Belgian manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles – trucks, tractors, waste collection vehicles. The company decided to strengthen its security and choose a sovereign platform by deploying HarfangLab across its workspace.

Context

Molcy had previously deployed another EDR solution to detect and respond to threats across its workspace. Despite having robust security practices already in place (cybersecurity solutions, network segmentation, MFA, etc.), the company wanted to step up its efforts to protect its IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux workstations and servers.

Due to the increasing risk posed by ransomwarephishing attempts, and potential espionage, data theft, and credential theft, Molcy needed to implement a sovereign platform to protect its data.

“We wanted to strengthen our protection with a high-performance, sovereign endpoint detection and protection platform. We now use HarfangLab’s EDR combined with Microsoft Defender.”

Why HarfangLab?

“HarfangLab gives me visibility and control over data that I don’t have with any other cybersecurity solution. Access to all the data provides me with a wealth of information that I didn’t have with our previous solutions.”

Deployment and support

The EDR deployment took about a day. The solution was deployed manually for Linux endpoints after downloading the installation file and copying the servers; and for Windows endpoints, the deployment included a phase of group policies configuration.

“I am very satisfied with the quality and responsiveness of the support. I relied heavily on our dedicated CSM during the initial setup, but now that I’m comfortable with the solution, I’m very self-sufficient in using the EDR. The interface is very intuitive.”

Results

Since deploying HarfangLab, Molcy has increased its visibility into its IT infrastructure

Even the most minor events are logged, which allows them to know exactly what is happening across the workspace – whether certain applications or scripts are blocked, whether they need to update whitelists, or strengthen security policies on endpoints or groups of endpoints.

I now report far more security events with HarfangLab than with other tools. The platform is far more transparent than other tools deployed in the past, and the whitelist system and process tree are particularly useful for tracing alerts back to their source. Even if these are harmless events, it’s reassuring to have all this information, knowing it’s easy to explore thanks to the investigation features. In short, I have access to information I can’t get with any other tool, which improves our security posture.”
